Epi-Derm Silicone Gel Sheeting for Scars

Epi-Derm Silicone Gel Sheeting for Scars

Here at Biodermis we understand scarring, what scarring entails, and how scarring makes our customers feel. It is very time consuming to think about the way your scar looks, feels, and how it appears to others. The look of your scar may take some time to fade, heal, and become less red. Not only is this time consuming but it is emotionally draining. One of the wonderful options we provide at Biodermis to help with this is our medical grade silicone sheeting. This 100% medical grade silicone sheeting can stay on clean skin for up to twelve hours. This is a great option for those who would prefer to cover up their scar and let it fade under the sheeting (out of sight out of mind). Our sheeting is perfect for bedtime use as it can stay on your body while you wind down for the night and stays on your body while you sleep. Once the twelve hours is up you will wash the sheeting with water and our hypoallergenic soap SilqueClenz and leave the sheeting out to dry. Once the sheeting is dry it can be applied to clean skin for another twelve hours. A useful tip before or after purchasing our Epi-Derm sheeting is to go to our website Biodermis.com and watch our Epi-Derm Instructional Video which is linked under each Epi-Derm product.

Medical silicone should be used on your scars for 2-3 months. This is generally the timeframe that patients see the best results in their scar treatment journey. However, because everyone’s skin is different and everyone’s scars heal in different ways, some patients will see results sooner than the recommended 2-3 months. On a daily basis, for silicone gel to be effective, it should be used for 12-24 hours per day.

If you have any questions on scar care assistance or which product would be best for you, please feel free to contact us at 702.260.4466. If you have any concerns such as when to start using silicone scar sheets, we always recommend consulting your doctor to have them look at your scar and make sure the wound is fully healed prior to silicone use. We look forward to helping you with your scar care needs and new scar care regimen!

Innovation, and proven results. That's Biodermis—the Science of Skin.
