Young girl attacked by dog is recovering well - suffered some scarring
Tanisha Hall is experiencing a slow but steady recovery after sustaining serious injuries when she was attacked by the family dog, reports Northhampton Chronicle & Echo.
The young girl, age five, suffered serious facial injuries as well as cuts and bruises all over her arms and hands. She received stitches and is expected to return home within a week or so.
"She has had to have stitches and she's got cuts all over her face, but they are not life threatening and she's recovering very well. The consultants here are pleased with her progress and although she [has] got scars, she has got time on her side because she's young so it's all healing well," her mother Suzanne Hall told the news source.
Now that Tanisha is on the road to recovery, the cosmetic issue of her scarring may be something her family works to address.
With today's modern advances in medicine and technology, those who have been injured have a variety of options available to them.
Clinical studies in scar treatment have shown that silicone is effective in masking and diminishing scars. Silicone-based scar treatment products, like silicone ointments and gels, are easy to use.
