Here at Biodermis all of our silicone products are made with premium grade silicone. You may be wondering what premium grade silicone means. In this blog post we will answer your questions about what premium grade silicone is, what it is used for, and most importantly how premium grade silicone is free of allergens. To start, allergen-free means that the product does not contain toxins such as natural rubber, fragrances, preservatives, dyes, and metals. These are the top five allergens that have been listed by the FDA. These top five allergens contain endocrine-disrupting ingredients such as BPA, PVC, and phthalates. Endocrine-disrupting ingredients are harmful to the human body as they interfere with your hormones. The use of these chemicals is harmful and is associated with a wide range of health issues.
Biodermis provides premium grade silicone in our silicone sheeting, patented sticks, and our silky smooth Episof. None of our products have endocrine-disrupting ingredients because they are 100% allergen-free. The premium grade silicone that is used in these products consists of clinically tested products designed to interact safely with the human body. All of our products have passed the rigorous FDA standards and are sold in hospitals, surgery centers, and private practices all around the world. Our products are durable, and they can be used for short term and long-term use. Our sheeting is a great example of this as it is thick and durable making it last 3-4 weeks or longer with proper care and washing. Many companies will have reusable sheeting, but the sheeting will be thin. This thin sheeting will not survive the wear and tear of use and washing and ultimately tears apart before 3-4 weeks.
Our products at Biodermis are generally used for Post-operative scar management and Anti-Aging. Our products can help older scars fade, lower, and reduce redness. Our premium grade silicone has the ability to help with older scars due to its unique properties that create homeostasis and minimizes the coloring, texture, and look of the older scar.
