"Since I've been using Pro-Sil , the scars on my face caused by acne have improved a lot."

I have had prior surgery so I am familiar with scarring. These sheets (Epi-derm) are incredible. My scars are minimal, and still fading.

I went through 4 wrist surgeries and was dealing with the emotional toll of the surgeries, as well as the scars that were left on both of my wrists…a constant reminder.  One of my co-workers suggested Epi-Derm Strips by Biodermis as she had used them for her c-section and said they worked great!  I went straight to biodermis.com and ordered them and I’ve been a user ever since!  I was amazed how quickly they worked and literally couldn’t be happier in finding Epi-Derm Strips.  They are a premium product but are well worth it as they really work!

Highly recommend. Helped flatten the scar and I no longer have pain.

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

So first let me say I love them!!!! I have tried several. I have to cut them for my specific needs and they adhere very well, even whike sleeping. I was able to get them on sale which was great. The only issue for me is the price for the amount versus other available options. I purchased the camo ones for the sale but would have liked the plain color as now I see they adhere well they can be worn on my facial scars throughout the day when I'm not working. My surgery scars in some areas are barely noticeable now. I will buy more and lookout for sales. My second choice is scar away - they are frequently on sale, they are almost identical and work the same. So if money is not an issue for you go with these they work fantastic. I would post pictures but my scars are on my face and still healing. If I can I'll post after pics real soon.

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

The fist photo is 4 weeks post op. The 2nd is after using the bandages for two weeks. They are most definitely reducing the thickness of the scars and the redness. Would absolutely use again. I bought 2 sets but I am still using the same ones. With proper care they are just as sticky as they were right out of the package. I wash them in the shower and hang them up to dry while i’m getting ready and put them back on. Highly recommended!

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

I had surgery in a difficult area under my left ribs. As it healed, the scar was raised and very uncomfortable. My doctor recommended these patches. They help reduce the swelling and pain. I do take them off in the shower, and am able to tolerate 12 hours on (at night), 12 hours off during the day. One patch (adhesive) lasts about 3-4 days for me. It's amazing, in just one week, my scar has been reduced 30-40%, and is improving everyday. This has helped me to avoid taking Advil, etc. so very glad I purchased! Expensive, but these patches have made my healing improve more quickly!

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

I am working on a large facial scar. When I keep these scar patches on for 2 days I can definitely tell the difference!

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

These work well but I keep forgetting to put them on. I have noticed when I wear one for multiple days they fall off easily even after following cleaning instructions.

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

They don’t match my skin tone (fair - typically a light 2). However that wasn’t a huge issue. The problem is that after washing (per instruction) they lose their stickiness. However, they are making a noticeable difference with the scar so I’m dealing with the stickiness issue. I feel like most products would do the same thing.

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

I would give it 5 stars but it comes off when it's in a jointvthat bends a lot. I use it for a surgery scar on wrist. It would work better if it was on a part of my body that doesn't bend.

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

Very good. After applying the patch to the scars for a few days, the scars are diminishing.

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

These stick but don't wear tight fitting clothes ontop, they will begin to roll off! Otherwise, fast shipping and they're easy to clean and reuse. I will post again when I have used them longer to see results but so far I do notice flattening of my scars.Update- these things really work! I actually just started using them to help heal a scratch on my back. It hurt so bad and then I applied one of these and I can't even tell I have a scratch on my back. It's almost like having skin ontop. It's healing it up much faster than any bandaid would. I read that you can use these for wrinkles too! I'll try that next.

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

These are perfect for a long scar. Comfortable and stay on all day

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

Been 8 weeks and scars look ok, not a miracle treatment though

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

I'm still in the process of using these. I can see a difference as I remove them, a smoothing of the scar. I have had some problem with the edges lifting on the sheeting. I am using them on a scar on my face near my nose. I am also using them at night as I sleep. Others have said that you need to add tape to keep them secure. I agree with that. I tend to roll over onto my belly to sleep so my face is in the pillow. This probably doesn't help with the sheet staying secure. I would still recommend them.

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

Okay, I do notice a difference in the size of my keloid after using these but it's not a permanent fix and I think that they're overprice.

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

Seems to work great on my scars from my ankle surgery. They are nice and sticky and hopefully will work a long time until my scar is reduced.

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

I been using these for about six months, both in pink camo, and beige, for a hypertrophic scar on my arm, which I started treating about a year after I got it. I have tried several brands, and these are definitely my favorite. These are more expensive than some others I've tried, but they typically last considerably more than the 2 weeks stated on the package, while some I've tried have lasted only 1-2 days, so these have ended up being reasonably cost-effective. Although the appearance of the scar bothered me from the start, the main reason I started trying to treat it, rather than just keeping it covered with clothing, was that it became extremely itchy. I have found that daily use of these sheets (very close to 24 hours/day -- I have at least two going at a time, so when I take one off to wash it, I put the other one on, and don't have to wait for it to air-dry) helps a lot with the itching, but has done little, if anything, for the appearance. My scar still itches occasionally, but only for a short time, less than once a day, which is a huge improvement over all day, every day! However, the scar is still just as visible as ever, and I'm pretty sure that if I left it uncovered for any length of time, it would start itching again like it used to almost immediately.I really like that this comes in pink (even though camo wouldn't be my choice of patterns, and I wish there were more color/pattern choices so I had some variety). Pink is my favorite color, and I have somewhat "childish" aesthetic tastes, so if I have to wear a scar sheet, I like that it's pink, at least... but more than that, I've found that, compared to the beige, people actually ask about this one less. My therapist suggested it could be because it resembles athletic tape (which is often longer-term, and therefore considered less appropriate to ask about), whereas the beige looks more like an adhesive bandage (i.e. a bandaid, which is usually very short-term, and therefore often seen as more appropriate to ask about), but whatever the reason, even though this is much more noticeable, it actually attracts far less overt attention than the "grown up" version. These are pretty thick, and are very durable and "sticky", as these things go. They do sometimes peel up a bit, occasionally slide out of place, and, very rarely, fall off altogether, but they are definitely the best of anything I've tried (even after adjusting for price). I'm not sure how often I actually replace these, since I often have up to 4 sheets I've washed and left to try to choose from (2 pink, 2 beige, and occasionally even one more after that), but based on how frequently I have bought new packages, I estimate that I average 3-4 weeks per sheet (where one week is seven days of use, consecutive or not). This is exactly the same size and composition as the beige sheets marketed for adults. The only difference is the color of the fabric backing -- everything else is exactly the same. The camo sheets are suitable for adults, as well as children, and the beige sheets are suitable for children as well as adults; the difference between the two products is entirely aesthetic.

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

I was sceptical since there wasn't many other reviews but I bought them anyways and I'm so glad I did!! I have a arm covered in scars, the red raised keloid scars are a lot lighter and not near as raised as it was. My old scars are faded now too. I noticed improvement the first day. I've rewashed them with dial gold multiple times and they still stick good. I've used them almost a week. I bet in a month of use they will be nearly gone or at least not as noticeable. Totally worth the 25$!

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

I have used several silicone scar treatments for various surgical scars & this one has been the best by far. So far I have used these only one night, for about 8 hours while I slept, and my scars are already lighter. I'm hoping that the more I use them, the lighter & flatter my scars will become. If this first night is any indication of the future healing, my scars will be gone in no time. Fingers crossed!!!

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

These scar stickers are so cute! It's great to have a product that will really work and one that my daughter actually wants to wear! The fact that it's washable and reusable is a big positive too.

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

This product is unique, fun and it works! Why give your kids boring silicone gel sheets when you can have these?! My daughter loves it and she plays HARD. Never falls off and it's reusable too--bonus!

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

These work wonders! I have only been using them for one week and I can't believe how much better my scar looks.

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

These silicone gel pads are 1000% great and they really work & I didn't get them free or half price for my unbiased answer

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

After using this for a few days I saw improvement in my scars on my knee. I am optimistic that the scar will be entirely removed in not much time.

Epi-Derm Small Strips (3)

WOW!!! I have had 3 surgeries for basil cell carcinoma on my face and my with my last surgery I had the silicone gel sheeting recommended for my scarring. I waited the full 3 weeks after having my sutures removed to start using the sheets. These are small but wide and I was able to cut them to fit. I wore my first strip for a full 24 hours with my first use, I was comfortable wearing it out in public because they are not intrusive at all. I was blown away when I removed the very first one! I would have never believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes! I want to stress that the site needs to be completely clean and dry for these to adhere properly, especially on the face. My last incision line runs directly down by my nose to just beside my mouth so I didn't want it to come lose with eating and drinking. They are thin and comfortable and also make it easy to massage over the area which is also recommended for a better healing process. I am on my 4th day with them now and could not be more pleased with the results. I truly wished I had know about these for my first 2 surgeries. I know for my particular surgery site on my face I could not recommend them highly enough,

Epi-Derm Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Epi-Derm Clear and Epi-Derm Natural?

The difference is that Epi-Derm Clear is fully transparent, with release liners on both sides. It is tacky on one side only. Epi-Derm Natural is beige in color with a soft fabric backing that tends to do well under clothing - letting fabric slide over it without bunching. Both varieties are made of 100% medical grade silicone.

Is Epi-Derm self-adhesive?

Unlike many other scar products, Epi-Derm is self-adhesive, but you may need to apply Epi-Tape or Epi-Net on certain areas of the body for extra securement.

How long do I use Epi-Derm for?

With any 100% medical-grade silicone therapy, best results are achieved with uninterrupted, continuous use.  Epi-Derm sheets can be worn for up to 12 hours at a time, washed (with a non-foaming, fragrance free cleanser like Silqueclenz), and re-used.  Epi-Derm is suitable for day and nighttime use.  With proper cleaning and average wear-and-tear, each Epi-Derm sheet can last 2-3 weeks.

What is the difference between your product and others?

Unlike many over the counter scar reduction products, Epi-Derm, Pro-Sil and Xeragel are made of medical grade silicone. Because of the quality and high standards of all Biodermis family of products, it is sold directly to hospitals, burn centers, plastic surgeons, dermatologists and other specialists.

How effective is Epi-Derm on older scars?

Epi-Derm is effective on all types of scars, including older scars.  Clinical studies have shown the newer the scar, the quicker the results, so with older scars -- products just need to be used for a longer period of time.

Do I need to use any other products with Epi-Derm?

During the day, especially in exposed areas, the most discreet option is often preferred.  For those situations, an on-the-go silicone product like Pro-Sil or a gel like Episof is recommended. For 24 hour a day usage, many patients prefer Epi-Derm scar silicone sheets at night when they are at home or sleeping, because a single sheet will last all night, and then Pro-Sil during the day.  Silqueclenz by Biodermis is the ideal cleanser formulation for cleaning silicone sheeting between uses.  Lastly, Epi-net or Epi-tape are sometimes required to keep silicone secured in areas that tend to actively bend throughout the day - such as a knee or ankle.

Will Epi-Derm completely eliminate my scar?

Ideal scar management results in a minimizing of the height, thickness and/or discoloration of the scar, thus helping flatten, smooth and blend the scar with the surrounding skin, making it far less noticeable.

Are there any complications?

Instances of skin irritation with silicone are rare.  However, as with any topical device applied directly to the skin, it is possible.  If any skin redness or irritation occurs, speak with your doctor to understand the root cause.

Is it safe?

Yes. Each product has received U.S. FDA clearance and European C.E. mark and is comprised of safe, non-toxic, non-medicated, semi-occlusive silicone gel.

Can I cut the Epi-Derm sheet?

Yes, Epi-Derm scar silicone sheets may be cut into smaller pieces using clean scissors or a knife. The piece of gel sheeting should fully cover the scar and extend 1/4 inch all the way around the scar border.

How is Epi-Derm different from other silicone sheets?

Biodermis is the originator of silicone sheeting in the industry and the first to introduce a variety of configurations and thicknesses, while maintaining the highest quality and regulatory standard.

Can I use Epi-Derm in conjunction with other products?

Nothing should be used underneath Epi-Derm gel sheeting (between the gel sheeting and your scar). Of course, Pro-Sil and Episof are frequently used during the day on exposed scars (face, hands, elbows, etc).

How should I store the unused Epi-Derm?

Biodermis recommends that you store it in its original packaging at room temperature.

How soon can I start using Epi-Derm?

Epi-Derm can be applied after the sutures have been removed, and the scab is no longer present.

Can Epi-Derm be used on children?

Yes, it is safe and non-toxic and can be used on children.

Which side should I apply to the scar?

Always apply the sticky side of the silicone sheets to the scar.

Should I remove the sheeting when I shower, workout or swim?

Yes, it is recommended to remove silicone sheeting for scars when you shower, workout or swim due to the excessive moisture. However, it does not harm the product or your scar.

Can Epi-Derm be used on facial scars?

Yes, Epi-Derm silicone strips work great on facial scars. Frequently, patients choose to use Pro-Sil or Episof on facial scars during the day because these products are less noticeable, then use Epi-Derm scar silicone sheets at night.

How long will gel sheeting last?

Once gel sheeting has been applied to the scar site, it can be used for 2-3 weeks. When it begins to lose its adhesive qualities, or when surface oils or skin cells become difficult to remove with proper daily washing, it is time to replace the sheet.
Unused product, whether opened, or unopened, will last for years when stored properly.

What are keloids and can Epi-Derm help prevent them?

Keloids are the aftereffect of an overgrowth of dense fibrous tissue that usually develops after healing of a skin injury. When a scar is formed, connective tissues or fibers are formed at the site to hold the wound closed. Keloids form when the cells continue to multiply after the wound is filled in. Symptoms may include pigmentation of the skin, discomfort, or an itchy or painful sensation.
Scar treatment therapy options include silicone sheets for keloids, and pressure treatment. Keloids may often be prevented by using a pressure dressing like Epi-Net in conjunction with silicone scar strips over the injury site 24 hours each day. This treatment is most effective after healing of the wound or injury, usually within a month.
